Location: Timișoara

We are looking for a Head of Data engineering to join us in Timișoara, Romania. You will be sitting at the intersection between engineering, product and business strategy, coordinating the data department that powers them.

This role is perfect for a team player with strong hands-on experience, drive, and curiosity. You know how to rise above the numbers to visualize and enable data driven insights to business users, and you instinctively minimize complexity to focus on key results. Who you are:

• You are a jack of all trades, entrepreneurial, forward thinking and have got positive energy. You are naturally inspiring to those around you, often seen as a mentor.
• 5+ years of experience in data roles, with significant experience in either 2 of Data Engineering, Data Analysis or Data Science;
• Experience with data governance;
• Knowledge of modern data / computing infrastructure and frameworks.
• Today we use Dagster, Great expectations, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Data Studio and Superset. You should be familiar with them or equivalents;
• The ability to communicate cross-functionally, derive requirements and architect shared datasets;

Were an even better match if you have:

• Hands-on ability to write production-grade pipelines
• Experience with regulated environments (SOC2/ISO, privacy, auditability)
• Experience with event-based modelling and stream processing

What you will do:

• Own the end-to-end data value chain;
• Provide strategic leadership, guidance and coaching while observing key business objectives;
• Data governance and quality;
• Drive the collection of new data and the refinement of existing data sources, engage with 3rd party data vendors, develop relationships with other engineering teams to manage our data structures as the company's  product and business needs evolve;
• Internal analytics: Implement data visualization and dashboarding solutions that help the business leverage/operationalize analytical insights to drive performance
• Work independently and take initiative to identify, explore and solve problems;
